THE STORY

Boarding a passenger boat from the Red Star Line.
Hundreds of travelers with their suitcases filled with illusions and hope for a better life. 
Some of them will realize their dream, for others the adventure becomes one big disappointment.

Jan and Marie are a happy couple. But farm life doesn't look very rosy,
because the smaller farms are losing out to the emerging automation
that only Rich farmers can afford.

Jan has the opportunity to work as an engineer in America, he decide to go on the offer.
Marie will travel him later after. Will their love survive the distance?

However, manipulation and ignorance ensure that their love is in danger of being destroyed by distance.

When a tragedy unfolds in the working class Steyaert family,
father Steyaert decides to flee to America in the hope of building a new and anonymous life.

However, the major crossing is not without danger.
Do all family members reach their final destination safely?
